Lisa asks…
Does this classify as a biological experiment?
Just wondering if this falls into the biological experiment category?
“Cannabis Smoking and Periodontal Disease Among Young Adults”
Thanks
that is the name of the experiment, is it a biological experiment?
I’m not doing the experiment I found it in a scientific journal. I have to report on a biological experiment that has been done. Was just wondering the previous question…thanks.

Sable answers:
Yes it is. There has to be a relation between cannibis smoking and periodontal disease. It makes more sense when U put it this way, Cannibis smoking is the cause of periodontal disease.

David asks…
i have gum disease and smoke weed what can i do to protect my teeth?
How bad is it to smoke weed with periodontal gum disease.. I don’t have it real bad I just got my teeth cleaned a week ago. I only have 2 teeth that the gums are receding. Anyways how bad is it to smoke weed with gum disease if I only smoke it 3 times a day or so out of a brass pipe. I floss 2-3 times a day and brush 4-5 times a day using colgate smartfoam toothpaste and crest prohealth mouthwash once in the morning and once at night. My teeth were cleaned a week ago and my gums are pretty much pink but they are inflamed quite often. Does that mean I still have the gingivitis? Also sometimes I can see small red blotches on my gums but sometimes they are just all the way pink.. Whats that mean?
Also will it help my teeth if I blow the smoke out of my nose? That way I’m not discharging it from where my teeth are. I’ve been doing that. I’m so paranoid but I love smoking weed it makes me calm I have very bad anger problems and adhd and it really helps so I don’t want to stop. Please don’t tell me to “stop smoking weed” because I’m not going to.

Sable answers:
It might be the brass pipe cause people that smoke crack use a iron or a brass pipe and there dentel hygine is uselly bad so buy a glass pipe and see if that makes it better or smoke out of a appple

George asks…
One dentist simply said “you need a deep cleaning & a root canal”. Another said “periodontal disease”?
The second opinion said i had periodontal disease with bone loss and i need 3 fillings and a crown for a cracked filling. Wondering about the perio.. Why would the first dentist not say that? I am going for 3rd opinion, but now i am really scared. I smoke and do have some gum recession bottom front, but the first and second opinions seem a little too different… Do they wanna scare ya into comin back or what???

Sable answers:
A deep cleaning is for someone who has calculus buildup (tartar) which happens when someone doesnt take care of their teeth and has periodontal disease.

Mandy asks…
What to do about my teeth?
My mom had to take a medication when she was pregnant with me that caused my teeth to be weak and brownish. I smoke, and I may have periodontal disease. What can I do about this?

Sable answers:
Periodontitis is much worse because it involves bone loss of the teeth and jaw. If you are experiencing loss of teeth, periodontitis has advanced very far.
Beyond problems with your mouth, the effects of not brushing your teeth can include increased risks of other diseases.
You need to stop smoking & see Periodontist as early as possible..

Thomas asks…
Do I have periodontal disease?(Help dentists)?
Recently I’ve notice my gums turning dark purplish red with black rings on the edges of the gums around the teeth. I’m confused as what exactly it is because I’ve researched heavily into Periodontal disease but All stages say there is bleeding. But I do not suffer from sensitivity or bleeding gums when brushing. Neither am I a Coffee tea drinker and I don’t smoke. I FIRST thought I have advanced perio but that’s not possible because I have no bleeding or discomfort when eating etc,. Please

Sable answers:
Make an appointment with your dentist for an exam. You will then know for sure. It does not sound like periodontal disease at all. I am not familar with these symptoms. (former dental assistant)

...Hi, I'm Linda and have been a smoker for years...but it's different now because of finding e cigarettes. Although I smoke a tobacco cigarette every now and then, I'm smoking more e cigarettes these days.
